Beatrice I. (Foster) Hurlburt

TROY-Beatrice I. (Foster) Hurlburt, 87, of Troy, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital in Towanda, PA. She was the loving wife of Dennis V. Hurlburt who passed away on October 5, 1997. The couple married on March 9, 1946 and had 51 happy years together. The graveside service to honor Beatrice's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Garry Zuber of the First Baptist Church of Troy officiating. The family has entrusted the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home Inc., 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA with the arrangements. Beatrice was born on May 23, 1921 in Troy, PA. She was the daughter of the late John and Eva (Williams) Foster. Beatrice was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1937. She worked for the Sylvania Corporation in Towanda where she rated wire. Beatrice was a member of the Sylvania Presbyterian Church and the Post #49 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, had many friends, and was always ready to help family or a friend in need. Beatrice is survived by her sons: Richard (Carol) Foster of Newburgh, NY and David Hurlburt of Troy, PA, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Theodore (Pearl) Foster of Milton, PA, her sister Margaret Johnston of Horseheads, NY, her brother-in-law Sam (Edith) Hurlburt of Troy, PA, her sisters-in-law Hildred Austic of Canton and Gladys Hurlburt of Troy, PA, her brother-in-law DeWayne Hurlburt of Plant City, FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
