Beatrice Ella (Singleton) Smalls

WILLIAMSPORT - Beatrice Ella (Singleton) Smalls, 83, formerly of South Carolina, died on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the Gatehouse. She was married to the late Moses A. Smalls for over 45 years before his death. Beatrice was born on April 3, 1929 on James Island, SC and was the daughter of the late Leon Singleton and Lucille Scott. She was an LPN for over 25 years and had worked at Coney Island Hospital, NY. She was a member of the Sam Hill Baptist Church, SC and enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, doing crossword puzzles and crocheting. Beatrice is survived by seven daughters; Loretta McRaven of Germany, Barbara Dallas and Hadiah Abdullah, both of Philadelphia, Atiya Ali of Williamsport, Jeanette Carter of Texas, Maxine Nayl of Philadelphia and Elizabeth Hillian of South Carolina, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. There will be a graveside service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport with the Reverend Joseph Walker officiating.
