YORK – Beatrice E. “Mrs. Bea” Englar, 87, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at her son’s residence in Halifax, PA. She was the wife of the late Philip H. Englar. The couple had celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary October 6, 2012. A graveside tribute service will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, March 10, 2014 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with her pastor, The Rev. Roger Mentzer officiating. Friends and family will meet at the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance of the cemetery at 1:15 PM Monday. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. Born May 24, 1926 in North York, a daughter of the late Samuel and Elizabeth (Lewis) Markley, she graduated from Dallastown High School and had also attended York College. Mrs. Bea was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Dallastown for over 50 years where she taught Sunday school, Kindergarten and Nursery school for over 27 years before retiring. She was also a member of White Rose VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Englar is survived by two sons, Jay F. Englar of Dover and Ronny F. Englar and his wife, Cheryl of Halifax; one daughter, Sherry E. Dean of York; seven grandchildren, Jay II, Ryan, Tim, Mike, Brant, Cassondra and Ricky; three great-grandchildren, Lauren, Chris and Ariana; one brother, Edward and one sister, Gertrude “Sis” and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sons, Philip, John, Gary and Ricky; one brother, Samuel “Bud”; and one sister, Maud. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church – Nursery School, 109 East Main St, Dallastown, PA 17313.
