ROCK HALL- Barry L. Tracey, 75, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE. He was the husband of Edna Mae (Johnson) Tracey, to whom he was married 54 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Terry Felton of the Mason Dixon Baptist Church, officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM prior to the service. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the beginning of the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born August 13, 1941 in York, Barry was the son of the late Dean and Ida (Russell) Tracey. He worked over 40 years for Cumberland Systems, starting out as Superintendent and eventually buying the company in 1986, from which he retired as owner in 2013. Barry served as an EMT for Red Lion and Brogue. He was Ambulance Captain for Brogue and also served as Chairman of the Board there. He received the 1990 Health Professional of the year for his services provided to the community. He was also on the board of the Chanceford Township building authority. Barry was a member of Stephens Farm Gun Club, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a lifetime sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and boater. Barry loved taking trips to Mexico to fish Marlin and duck hunt. He was also a NASCAR fan, and used to spend Februaries in Daytona Beach. Mr. Tracey served our country in the United States Marine Corp. He served for two years in Naples, Italy as security for NATO. Along with his wife Edna, Mr. Tracey is survived by two sons, Bryan Tracey and wife Carol of Felton, and Brad Tracey of Red Lion; eight grandchildren, Audrey Rose, Adam Lee, Colleen Rose, Lauren Rachael, Sean Francis, Clare Elizabeth, Kayla Lynn, and Jenna Nicole, and a sister, Judy Whitman of Hellam. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Alexander Mankin. Memorial contributions may be made to Red Lion Area Educational Foundation, Nicholas A.
