Barry L. Stoner

YORK- Barry L. Stoner, 63, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Cindy Lou (Smith) Stoner. The couple celebrated 41 years of marriage this past December. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the UAW Union Hall, 3562 Gillespie Drive, York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born April 10, 1951 in York, Barry was a son of the late John and Margaret (Kreiser) Stoner. He graduated from York County Vocational-Technical School in 1970. He worked 45 years at Johnson’s Control, formerly York International, until his retirement in December 2013. Barry was a member of the Vigilant Social Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stoner is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Stoner of York; a granddaughter, Alyssa Gosnell; four brothers, William Stoner of Arvin, California, Franklin Stoner of York, Paul Stoner of York and Robert Stoner of Ft. Myers, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Mr. Stoner was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Stoner and Kenneth Stoner, and two sisters, Doris (Stoner) Peters and Barbara Stoner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his beloved granddaughter for her continued college education.
