Lebanon—Barry L. McWilliams, 64, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at VA Medical Center in Lebanon. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with his pastor, the Rev. Marlin Fleck of New Testament Baptist Church in Chambersburg, officiating. A viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Jefferson Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. McWilliams born January 12, 1944 in York, a son of the late Thomas C. McWilliams Sr., and Ruthanna M. (Bair) McWilliams. He was employed with Caterpillar Inc., as a Machinist for 30 years, until his retirement in 1997. A United States Marine Corp veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1965. He was also an avid Jeff Gordon Fan and a Oriole's baseball fan. Mr. McWilliams is survived by two brothers, Thomas McWilliams Jr., of and Carroll McWilliams both of York, one sister, Barbara Smith of Spring Grove, one daughter, Melissa Lovelace and husband, Wayne of York, four grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Molly, and Zachary and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Bair In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to New Testament Baptist Church, 5444 Cumberland Hwy., Chambersburg, Pa 17201 or Lebanon VA Medical Center, Hospice Unit, 1700 S. Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, Pa 17042. Arrangements were made in accordance with Barry's wishes.
