Barry L. Gipe

Renovo - Barry L. Gipe, age 53, of Cross Fork, died at Bucktail Medical Center on Tuesday, July 8, 2008. He was born in York, Pa. on August 24, 1954, son of the late D. Randolph and Dorothea (Matthews) Gipe. Barry was the owner and operator of Barry Gipe Home Improvement Co., was a member and past president of the Cross Fork Sportsman's Club, Keystone Reptile Club, and deputy chief of the Kettle Creek Hose Co. He was also an avid Harley rider and hunter and trapper. He is survived by his wife: Nicole "Nikki" (Tarantella) Gipe whom he married on June 7, 1996 in Renovo. Also surviving is his son: Dale Gipe of Renovo, daughter: Danielle (Chuck) Cross of Hammersley Fork , two grandchildren: Emily and Dylan Cross, four sisters: Gloria (John) Salter and Delores Smith of Red Lion, Dorene (Charlie) Criswell of Windsor, Pa. , Donna (Terry) Poleto of Tamarack and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by three brothers: Earl Matthews and Randy and Dale Gipe. Funeral services will be held at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008 with Mrs. Martha Sykes and Mrs. Mary Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time. The family will provide the flowers and memorials are requested to the Kettle Creek Hose Co. or the Cross Fork Sportsman's Club.
