Barry L. Danner

YORK - Barry L. Danner, 64, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Carolyn A. (Rudisill) Danner to whom he was married for 39 years on December 23, 2009. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Robert E. Brown of Grace United Church of Christ officiating. A viewing will be held from 5-6:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Born August 21, 1945 in York a son of the late Russell and Isabella (Unger) Danner, he had worked at the former AMF and was a truck driver for Harley Davidson, Inc. He had also worked for Smith Village Home Furnishings and York Newspaper Company. Mr. Danner was a member of Viking Athletic Assoc. and Living Legends Street Rod Assoc. He enjoyed using his mechanic skills while building and maintaining his Street Rods. When he wasn't working on his vehicles, Mr. Danner loved putting puzzles together and watching and going to NASCAR races. One of his proudest accomplishments was the completion of his home, in which he built. In addition to his wife, Mr. Danner is survived by two daughters, Lorrie A. Danner of York and Lisa M. Danner of Stanfordville, NY; a grandson, Robbie Kohler and companion Toni Krider; three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Skylar, and Destiny; a sister, Linda and husband Charles Yeagy of Dillsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca A. Kohler. Memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
