DALLASTOWN- Barbara Lou (Taylor) Hartman passed away Saturday, December 5, at York Hospital. The daughter of the late Richard and Florence Taylor, she was born on March 1, 1936, just a few hours shy of being a “leap year baby,” in Dallastown. She was married for 65 years to Kenneth L. “Bud” Hartman, who survives her, and they made their home for most of those years just outside of Loganville. Barbara began her long career in banking while a student at William Penn High School, when she worked as a teller at Drovers & Mechanics Bank in York. After starting a family, she returned to the workforce and served for 33 years in various roles with Peoples Bank, ending her career in 1998 as head of data processing. She enjoyed baking, spending time with family and following her favorite football teams. Also surviving her are three children and their spouses, Randall and Susan Hartman of New Oxford; Dean and Nancy Hartman of LaGrange, Georgia; and Sueanne and Kenneth Dulski of Ambler; grandchildren Michelle and Joe Eberly of York, Kevin and Ashley Hartman of Dover, Amy and Christopher Harder of Newnan, Georgia; and Courtney Hartman of York; step-grandchildren Kristen and Brian Repasky of York and Kenny and Sara Main of New Oxford; several great-grandchildren; siblings Pat Myers of York; Jo Chandler of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Richard Taylor Jr. of Norwood, New York; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Kay Hartman. Barbara was a member of Codorus Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school and served in other capacities. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 14, at 11 a.m. at Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Rd. in Dallastown. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the service begins. She will be laid to rest in the church cemetery. The service can also be viewed on the Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Facebook page starting at about 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Codorus Church.
