Barbara J. LeMunyon

ALLEGHENY – Barbara J. (Staub) LeMunyon, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Concordia of Bridgeville. She was the wife of the late Walter J. LeMunyon.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will take place 10:00 AM, Monday, February 3, 2025 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Father Celestine Nwakwuo from St. Rose of Lima Church officiating the service. There will be a viewing from 9:00-10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial is private at Holy Savior Cemetery.

Born April 8, 1935 in Rochester, PA, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Helen (Lipnicky) Staub. Mrs. LeMunyon was a proud graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown, PA, class of 1953 and went on to graduate with honors from business school. She started her career working for the US Navy in Washington, DC where she won a good citizen award. After marrying and raising three children, Barbara went back to work as an administrative assistant at Kochenour Earnest Smyser-Burg in York, retiring in 1992 after 20 years of hard work. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling with her late husband, spending time with her grandchildren and partaking in hobbies including politics, baking and various Christian support groups.

Mrs. LeMunyon is survived by her three children, Walt L. LeMunyon and his wife Valerie of Canonsburg, Sue M. Corona and her husband Robert of Towson, MD and Kathy A. LeMunyon of Alpharetta, GA, as well as six grandchildren: Raelyn, Gabrielle, Nathan, Dominic, Anna, and Leah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, and two brothers, Lawrence R. Staub and Jerome S. Staub.
