Barbara Jane Long

DOVER- Barbara Jane (Sadler) Long, of Dover Township went home to be with her Lord and Saviour September 17, 2015 surrounded by family in her home. She is reunited with those that went before her, her husband The Reverend Clair Long and her parents, The Reverend George and Dorothy (Vreeland) Sadler. Barbara is survived by he sister, Betty (Sadler) Rials and her husband Gerald of South Carolina; brother-in-law, Dale Long of New York; three children, Faith Long, Adrienne (Long) Crone of Dover, and Andrew R. Long of Pittsburgh; and three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Brady and Kaden Crone, and Kolby Long. Barbara began her life in Passaic, NJ, where she was born on March 11, 1946. She grew up in Yonkers, NY. She received her Associates Degree in Clearwater, FL then moved back home and worked at Northeastern Collegiate Bible Institute in New Jersey, where she met her husband Clair, the love of her life. They were married 35 years before he passed and are now rejoined forever. Barbara lived her life for the Lord. She attended New Life Church. She loved playing the trumpet, singing, and listening to music. She enjoyed watching Penn State Football, the beach, and time with family, especially her grandchildren. She worked as a secretary for many years and with children in schools and daycares. Barb always had a smile on her face and a hug to give you. She will be deeply missed by all but in time we will see her again in eternity. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at New Life Church, 530 Big Springs Road in New Cumberland, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. The Reverend Ronald G. Riggins will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd is in charge of the arrangements. Interment will be private at Tri-County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry.
