RENOVO - Barbara June (Miller) Grotzinger, 86, of 504 Central Ave., Renovo passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at her home after having celebrated Thanksgiving with several of her sons. Born June 10, 1926 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ellen (Freeze) Miller. In addition he her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Joseph I. Grotzinger on June 11, 2011 and a son Michael Grotzinger on February 17, 2006. Barbara was a 1944 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She worked while in school at Triangle Shoe Store and offices of Widmann & Teah. later she worked at Clasters and General Armature. She married Joseph I. Grotzinger on June 18, 1946. She became a homemaker and mother of seven sons, all born by caesarian section. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church Catholic Church, Renovo where she was active over the years in the P.T.A., Catholic Daughters of America and the Altar Rosary Society. She did volunteer work at the Renovo Hospital and Bucktail Medical Center. She was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She is survived by her sons John (Marjorie) of Renovo, Stephen (Shirley) of New Castle, Timothy (Kelly) of Manheim, Daniel (Carol) of Clarks Summit, Joel of Colorado and Martin of Mechanicsburg and a daughter-in-law Mabel of Mechanicsburg, a brother James Miller of Mount Joy, and a half-sister Phyllis Reish of Lock Haven and also a half-brother Thomas Miller of Carlisle. She is survived by 12 grandchildren Carrie (Shawn), JoEllen, Paula (Lance), David, Steve, Jr., (Lois), Kimberly, Rebecca, Kara (John), Mark (Kelly), Matthew, Andrew and Neil. Also 8 great-grandchildren Dustin, Elizabeth, William, Jeremiah, Nathaniel, Aaliyah, Natasha, and Ashley. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., with the Rev. Charles Ugo officiating. Friends and relatives will be received at the church one-hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Saint Marys, PA. The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine Street, S. Renovo, PA 17764. Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of Arrangements.
