Barbara J. Dietrich

DOVER- Barbara Joan Dietrich, 84, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at York Hospital. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. David’s Evangelical Congregational Church, 2411 Oakland Rd. in Dover, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Pat Teaford will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Dietrich was born in Valley View, Schuylkill County on August 26, 1933, the daughter of the late Samuel R. and Arlene M. (Eckler) Starr. She retired as a travel agent with York Bank Travel Agency. Mrs. Dietrich was a member of St. David’s E. C. Church in Dover. She was an avid card player and enjoyed bowling and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Philadelphia Phillies and Baltimore Orioles games as well as Penn State Football. Mrs. Dietrich leaves a son, Ray A. Dietrich, Jr. and his wife Karen of Glen Rock and a daughter, Ann L. McHugh and her husband Michael of York Springs; five grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
