YORK- Barbara A. (Julius) Coxen, 84, died on April 23, 2022 at Country Meadows, Trolley Rd. She was the wife of the late Dwight R. Chamberlain and the late Jacob E. Coxen. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. prior to the service. Private burial will be in Shiloh Union Cemetery. Born on March 20, 1938 in York, she was a daughter of the late C. Clark and Mae (Dietz) Julius. Barbara was a secretary for Shiloh U.C.C. and Met Ed. Mrs. Coxen was a member Sychar No. 36 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem for over 50 years, competed for many years in the senior games and enjoyed knitting in her spare time. Mrs. Coxen is survived by her son, Scott Chamberlain of Mt. Wolf; daughter, Michele Knaub of Dover; step daughter, Connie Petcher and her husband, Ron of Virginia; grandson, R. Stuart Knaub; two step grandsons, Rhett and Dereck Petcher; several step great grandchildren; sister, Linda Skinner of Dover; niece, Tyra Brown and her husband, Michael of Glen Ridge, NJ; and three great nieces and nephews. n lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Black Mountain Home for Children, 80 Lake Eden Rd, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
