Barbara A. (Geiselman) Lightner

DOVER- Barbara A. (Geiselman) Lightner, 74, of Dover Township, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at Hershey Medical Center. She was the wife of Archie E. Lightner, Jr.. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on April 25th. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a visitation from noon – 1 p.m. Her pastor, The Reverend David E. Sutter will be officiating at the service and Lanny Peters will be delivering the eulogy. Mrs. Lightner was born in Jacobus on March 29, 1939, the daughter of the late Elmer and Bessie (Schrum) Geiselman. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Mercy Hospital in Scranton. Mrs. Lightner was a member of York Bible Church and was an avid gardener. She was proud of her art work including her corn husk dolls and paintings. She was honored with an exposition at the National Arboretum in Washington, DC. Mrs. Lightner leaves two sons, Nathan E. Lightner and his wife Wendy of Red Lion, and Jonathan E. Lightner and his fiancée Amanda of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren, Eric, Carin Rae, Luke, Aeryn, and Noah; and a sister, Sonia Heidler of Jacobus.
