B. Robert "Bob" Snyder

YORK—B. Robert “Bob” Snyder, 86, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024 at his residence in York Township. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Todd) Snyder to whom he was married for 63 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Paul’s Church of Red Lion, 45 First Ave, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Funk and Pastor Chris Nauta. Burial will be private in Yoe Union Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born June 04, 1937 in York, he was the son of Bruce R. and Madelyn G. (Roseman) Snyder. Bob was in business with his late father and his late twin brother, William R. Snyder, working with their companies Security Fence Company, Genie Electronics Company, and Impax Inc. He served in the United States Navy as a medical corpsman, stationed in Cuba. Bob was a longstanding and dedicated member of St. Paul’s Church of Red Lion for over 60 years. He also belonged to the Red Lion Elks Club.

Bob enjoyed playing tennis, which he continued through his sixties. He was also the founder of the RLAJA – Red Lion Area Joggers Association, where people gathered to run together. He and his wife Mary, along with the family, enjoyed spending time in Ocean City, MD for over 30 years, creating yet another special place for the family to share.

More than what Bob did was how he lived. Every. Single. Day. His love of the Lord was always first in his life. After that, he dedicated his life to his family – always ensuring that everyone was taken care of. He was a genuine people person. No matter where he went he struck up a conversation with ease, with whoever was next to him – whether it be in a store, at a restaurant, or the person sitting next to him in the doctor’s office waiting room.

Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing Bob was well aware of his unending sense of humor and his positive and optimistic outlook. Simply put, Bob was an inspiration, every day, touching the lives of countless people. His kindness knew no bounds.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Snyder is also survived by his daughters, Lori Ann Noga of York and Holly Jo Seace and her husband, Barry of York; five grandchildren, Bobbi Ann and Brooke Ann Noga and Brandon Seace and his wife, Jenn, Courtney Frawley and her husband, Michael and Chloe Seace; one great grandson, Kaiden Seace; one sister, JoAnn Seidenstricker and her husband, Jay and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, William R. Snyder and one sister, Carolyn G. Kline.

Bob lived his life with integrity and morality. He never gave up, following his own famous quote and motto in everything he did. To succeed in life, you need “not just perseverance, but relentless perseverance”.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
