Dover—Autry L. Schroll, 78, died Monday, February 29, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon K. (Harris) Schroll to whom he was married for 46 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born November 9, 1937 in Spring Grove, he was a son of the late Russell Schroll, Sr., and Edith (Riley) Schroll. He was employed as a welder with American Hydro for 25 years until his retirement in 2000 and was previously employed with JE Baker as a stoker for 20 years. An avid street rod enthusiast, he built and restored several cars and was also a member of both the National Street Rod and Hot Rod Associations. He also liked John Deere Tractors, assembling model cars, watching NASCAR, especially Mark Martin and was a member of Trinity (Roth’s ) United Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schroll is also survived by three daughters, Gloria J. Osman of Trevorton, Denise A. Schroeder of Dover and Marilyn K. Brenneman of Dover; two step children, Rick D. Lauer of Dover and Sherry M. Rickell of York; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; three brothers, Russell Schroll, Jr., of Spring Grove, Larry Schroll of Thomasville and Marvin Schroll of Dover and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Schroll and his dog and best buddy, “Sparky”.
