Augustus K. Doll

YORK—Augustus K. Doll, 95, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 at his residence in York Township. He was the husband of Ellen I. (Waltemyer) Doll to whom he was married for 66 years.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00AM, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at New Fairview Church of the Brethren, 1873 New Fairview Church Rd, York. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul W. Bentzel and Pastor Wayne S. Hartman. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00AM, Tuesday at the church. Burial will be held in Pleasant View Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Guard.

Born February 25, 1927 in York, he was a son of the late Augustus E. and Birtha M. (Stanton) Doll.

He was a mill operator with National Gypsum where he was employed for 25 years, until his retirement in 1989.

He served in the United States Navy and the United States Army and was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and birdwatching. He was also a skilled woodworker and in recent years spent hours on word puzzles and coloring.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Doll is also survived by a daughter, Charlene A. Seymore and her husband, Steve of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cody Seymore. He was preceded in death by son, Dale A. Doll.
