Audrey M. Axe

RED LION – Audrey M. (Fout) Axe, 82, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Lancaster Nursing & Rehab Center. She was the wife of the late Ray D. Axe.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2024 at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Pastor Laura Holtzapple officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Craley Cemetery.

Born June 2, 1941 in Tulsa, OK; a daughter of the late Bonnie R. and Leslie G. (Summers) Fout. Audrey had worked at various sewing factories throughout York County and enjoyed being a homemaker. Mrs. Axe was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Axe is survived by four sons, Ray D. Axe, Jr. and wife Sue of Dover, Christopher L. Axe and wife Shelly of Red Lion, Larry E. Axe and wife Kristy of Dover, Roger W. Axe of York; two stepsons, Michael S. Axe and wife Cindy of Dallastown and James D. Axe and wife Kimber of Hershey; a stepdaughter, Wendy Hirt of Windsor; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Dennis R. and Irvin L. Axe; and a stepdaughter, Linda Markle.
