Audrey J. (Raine) Boileau

Audrey Jean (Raine) Boileau, 86, died on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Autumn House East. She was the wife of the late Ray Poet Boileau. Services for Mrs. Boileau are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on December 18, 1934 in York Haven, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Lottie (Love) Raine. Audrey was a 1952 graduate of Manchester High School, worked as a secretary at the York County Courthouse from 1962-1970, and owned and operated Timberlodge Tavern, in Manchester with her husband from 1970-1995. Mrs. Boileau enjoyed participating in events sponsored by the Red Hats Society, playing Scrabble with her children while eating her favorite Utz potato chips, attending shows and musicals in New York City and once, in Covent Garden, London. She was known and respected for her recipes in the kitchen at the Timberlodge Tavern but preferred cooking for friends and family, many of whom would chronically request her homemade apple pies in lieu of any other gifts for birthdays and holidays. Mrs. Boileau is survived by two sons, Mr. Samuel J. Schroll of York and Dr. Sean Boileau of Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Gross and her husband, Larry Gross of Tampa, FL and York and Ms. Lisa Gunnet of York; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "Ging" after her first grandson invented the nickname and each of the others adopted it accordingly. She was preceded in death by seven siblings. Memorial Contributions may be made to the SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trl. N., York, PA 17406 or the York County Food Bank, 254 W. Princess St. #3881, York, PA 17401. CLICK HERE TO SEND FLOWERS
