Audrey F. (Gentzler) Gillis

York—Audrey F. (Gentzler) Gillis, 84, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late John D. Gillis. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Monday, December 31, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. Lisa A. Hair of St. Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in York New Salem officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery. Born April 1, 1928 in York New Salem, she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Edith (Smith) Gentzler. She was a loving and caring homemaker for her family. Mrs. Gillis is survived by one son, Stephen D. Gillis of York; one daughter, Sandra D. Wagaman and husband, Chuck of York; three grandsons, Alex Wagaman of York, Chris Gillis of Red Lion and Mike Gillis and wife, Kristin of East York; two great grandchildren, Nathan and Natalie Gillis; two brothers, Rodney and Jim Gentzler; five sisters, Mary Glatfelter, Bernice Landis, Treva Zartman, Kay Cannon and Nancy Bupp and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Terry, Donald and John Gentzler and two sisters, Lorna Hock and Ramona McCleary.
