WINDSOR TOWNSHIP- Arthur E. Grove, 81, of Red Lion, died Thursday, July 30, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Minnie A. (Dettinger) Grove.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc,. 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday and 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Stonepile United Methodist Cemetery with full military honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard.
Mr. Grove was born in Red Lion on December 14, 1927, a son of the late Samuel M. and Mable I. (Arnold) Grove. He was a life time Auto Mechanic, retiring from Jack Giambalvo in York and was also part owner of Grove Brothers Saw Mill in Springvale.
Mr. Grove was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Felton. He and Minnie enjoyed camping for many years. He was a very caring and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the US Army during WWII.
Mr. Grove leaves a son, Michael E. Grove, of Felton; a daughter, Julie A. Grove of Red Lion; a grandson, Timothy Anderson; a brother, Samuel Grove of Red Lion; and two sisters, Mary Eberly and Lillian Eberly, both of Dallastown. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dennis, Johnny, and Luther Grove and three sisters: Dorothy Barshinger, Alverta Eberly, and Betty Eberly.
