Arthur E. Danneberger

YORK- Arthur E. Danneberger, 91, died on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Manor Care North. He was the husband of the late Ellen J. (Johnson) Danneberger, who died on April 8, 2005. The couple wed on June 5, 1948. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York with the Reverend Elmer Scofield officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on March 28, 1923 in Wasla, Nicaragua, he was a son of Moravian Missionaries, the late Adolph and Flora (Heber) Danneberger. Arthur was a salesman for Bethlehem Steel until his retirement. Mr. Danneberger was a member of Shiloh U.C.C. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Arthur was a sports enthusiast. He loved to play golf and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Mr. Danneberger is survived by two sons, Reverend David Danneberger and his wife, Nancy of York and Dr. John E. Danneberger and his wife, Anne of Severna Park, MD; five grandchildren, Matthew, Katrina, Kara, Jenna and Erica; and four great grandchildren, Allison, Ethan, Bruce and Rebecca.
