FELTON - Arthur D. Bitter, 83, of Chanceford Twp., died at 2:50 pm Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the York Hospital. He was the husband of Rosalie B. (Tauber) Bitter with whom he celebrated a 26th wedding anniversary on February 8, 2014, and the late Janet Bitter. A service to celebrate Mr. Bitter’s life will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown with his pastor, the Rev. Lawrence A. Cunnings officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church. Burial with military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Glen Rock. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bitter was born July 30, 1930 in Passaic, NJ. He was the son of the late Arthur H. and Agnes (Dinsen) Bitter. He was a 1962 graduate of Dickerson College earning his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and worked as a Senior Electrical Engineer with Westinghouse, retiring in 1990. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Dallastown. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lynda Galbiati of Val Paraiso, IN and Kristine Langville and her husband, John of Mauldin, SC; three grandchildren, Gianni, Joseph and Tess; a sister, Audrey Grootenboer of Randolph, NJ; and two nieces. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Bitter. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 126 W. Main St., Dallastown, PA 17313.
