Arnold L. Ring

York—Arnold L. Ring, 86, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his residence in Manchester Township. He was the husband of Joan M. (Muller) Ring. The couple celebrated 62 years of marriage on March 31st. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 AM, Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1502 4th Ave & Ogontz Street, York. Officiating the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Dr. David Robson and Mr. Charlie Hoopes. Inurnment will be 11 AM, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 27, 1926 in Omaha, Nebraska, he was a son of the late Alonzo L. and Bess P. (Horsens) Ring. He was employed as a merchant in the retail industry for 38 years until his retirement in 1988. A United States Army Veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific Theater for 3 years and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in York, he was also a member of the Men’s Republican Club, Shiloh American Legion, Outdoor Country Club and former member of the Hanover Chamber of Commerce. He was a graduate of Central High School in Omaha, NE, and later earned his college degree from the University of Nebraska of Omaha. In addition to his wife, Mr. Ring is also survived by, three sons, Larry A. Ring of Atlantic City, NJ, Steven A. Ring of Hebron, KY and Tom E. Ring and wife, Gwyn of Quechee, VT; one daughter, Sue E. Dugan of Dover; and 4 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1502 4th Ave, York, Pa 17403.
