Arline C. (Fehr) Kimmel

ORWIGSBURG - Arline C. Fehr Kimmel, 87, of Pottsville, died Saturday night at Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg. Born March 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Ida Schmidt Fehr. She was a 1939 graduate of Pottsville High School. She also attended classes at the Penn State Pottsville Center. She married William C. Kimmel Sr., on Oct. 12, 1947. Arline lived and worked in Pottsville most of her life. After graduating from Pottsville High School, she worked as a pharmacist's apprentice at Wood's Drugstore. She was an assistant manager at Brighter Furniture from 1966 to 1984. She was active in the Junior Women's Club of Pottsville, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Crimson Aides. She was a former Girl Scout leader and also a member of the Jackson Street / Orchard School PTA. Arline was a member of the Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, Landingville, where she was in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was preceeded in death by her husband. Arline is survived by a son, William C. Kimmel and his wife, Megan, Auburn; a daughter, Sandra L. Kimmel Stace and her husband, Stephen Stace, Oreland; four grandchildren, April L. Stace Vega and her husband, Nucleo Vega, Greenbelt, Md., Brent S. Stace and his wife, Jennifer Foucher, Lorton, Va., William C. Kimmel III, Auburn, and Elaine A. Kimmel, Auburn; a great-grandson, Lukas C. Vega; a brother, Quentin R. Fehr, Spring House; a sister Geraldine A. Fehr Smith, Sharon Hill; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday from the Faith Reformed United Church of Christ, Landingville, with pastors James Fidler and April Vega officiating. There will be no calling hours and no procession from Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Sixth and West Market streets, Pottsville. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
