YORK Arlene E. Rock, 80, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family, on Sunday morning, May 19, 2013, at the home of her daughter in Orlando, Florida. Born in York, Pennsylvania, on July 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Louise A. (Neff) Kenney. She was the beloved wife of Edwin B. Rock until his death in 1998. Throughout her life, Arlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. In her later years, she was a compassionate caregiver to many elderly homebound people. Arlene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Donald R. Faircloth of Orlando, Florida, 3 grandchildren, Blaine Shoff of Craley, Joseph Smith of Los Angeles, and Jennifer Smith of York, 2 great-grandchildren, Haley Shoff and Owen Shoff, her step-grandson, Brett Rock, and step-great-grandchildren, Emily Rock and Zachary Rock. She is also survived by her siblings, Donald Kenney, Dale Kenney, Gary Kenney and Sharon Susan Smith, her former daughter-in-law, Barbara Smith, and her daughter-in-law, Penny Smith Tusing. She was predeceased by her son, David E. Smith, and her siblings, Robert Kenney, Richard Kenney, Ronald Kenney and Gregory Kenney. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, York is in charge of arrangements. Following cremation, a memorial tribute will be held in Pennsylvania at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in honor of Arlene may be made to The MSA Coalition, 8311 Brier Creek Pkwy., Raleigh NC 27617, to help research for the disease that took the life of her son, David, or to the Cancer Patient Help Endowment Fund of the York Health Foundation, 912 S. George St., York, Pa. 17403. We will miss you, Mom, Nana, Arlene. You were the light of our lives. Now you can watch over us from Heaven above and shower us with your love and kisses.
