YORK- Arlene E. (Crabbs) Anthony, 88, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Misericoria Nursing & Rehabilitation in York. She was the wife of the late William H. Anthony, Jr. The couple was married 52 years before William’s passing in 2003. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 251 E. Main Street, Dallastown, with Rev. Father John A. McCloskey officiating. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 AM prior to Mass. Burial will be in Dallastown Union Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Born March 20, 1929 in Taneytown, MD, Arlene was a daughter of the late David L. and Cora E. (Mayers) Crabbs. She worked as a sales clerk for BonTon Department Stores until her retirement in 1991. Mrs. Anthony was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dallastown. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, flower gardening, camping and traveling. Mrs. Anthony is survived by two sons, William H. Anthony III and his wife Sharon of Dallastown and Michael Anthony and his partner Barry Lyons of Winston Salem, NC; four daughters, Susan Greenberg and her husband Richard of Mechanicsburg, Sharon Leiphart and her husband Rick of York, Donna Melhorn, and Karen Trout and her husband Terry of Red Lion; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and a sister, Manetta Redding of Hanover. In addition to her husband and parents, Arlene was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018 or the Alzheimer's Association, 2595 Interstate Dr., Ste 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
