POTTSVILLE - Ardell V. Murray, 87, of Mechanicsville, died Thursday at home with her family by her side. Born in Cressona on January 25, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Mary Dengler Lloyd. She was a graduate of Cressona High School. On December 25, 1945 she married the late Nicholas J. Murray, who passed away in 1981. Until retiring, she was employed by Cressona Knit. Ardell was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. Ardell was a wonderful mother and grandmother, devoting her life to raising her family. She will certainly be missed, looking down upon us from Heaven. Ardell was an avid Parcheesi player, and vacationed twice a year in Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed the music of Englebert Humperdinck, and loved attending his concerts. Surviving Ardell are: two daughters, Carolee & Lynn Murray, both of Mechanicsville; two grandsons, Shawn Murray, of Mechanicsville and Bryan and his wife Jennifer Murray, of Huntingdon, PA; two great grandchildren, Delaney and Nick Murray; and a sister-in-law, Beryl Lloyd, of Lebanon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a sister, Theda Owens; two brothers, Harold and Howard Lloyd; and a nephew, Gregg Owens. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 10 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville., with the Reverend Darcy Reis officiating. Family and friends may call from the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM and Monday from 9 until time of service. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Hillside SPCA, PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
