Anthony F. D'Auria

York—Anthony F. D'Auria, 79, formerly of Merrick, NY, died, Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carmela (Lucenti) D'Auria, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, February 16th. A tribute service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Mt. Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave., with the Rev. Fr. Louis Petruha of St. Joseph Catholic Church in York, officiating, a funeral cortege will form at the cemetery's main entrance at 11:15 a.m. Viewings will be held from 1-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. D'Auria was born June 13, 1928 in Bridgeport, Conn., a son of the late Eugene and Palma (Marcone) D'Auria. He proudly served as a New York City Firefighter for 32 years until his retirement in 1989. A United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. D'Auria is also survived by his children, daughters, Pamela and her husband Thomas Aquino of York and Denise and her husband John Faraone of Red Lion, son, Michael and his wife Diane D'Auria of York, 11 grandchildren, Thomas Aquino Jr., and Christopher Aquino, Anthony D'Auria III and Valerie D'Auria, Nicole, Diana, Donna and Toni Faraone and Crystal, Angela and Gianna D'Auria, one great grandchild, Cameron, brother, Joseph and his wife Gertrude D'Auria, sister, Rose Gallina, daughter-in-law, Caroline D'Auria, sister-in-law, Joan D'Auria and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony F. D'Auria Jr., and his brother, Frank D'Aurio and brother-in-law, Al Gallina.
