Anne E. (Young) Weigle

NEW OXFORD- Anne E. (Young) Weigle, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community. She was the wife of Donald K. Weigle to whom she was married for 61 years. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Providence Presbyterian Church, 1215 Church Rd., York, PA 17404 with the Reverend Andy Phillips officiating. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on August 12, 1929 in York, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Arlene (Hake) Young. Anne was a 1947 graduate of William Penn High School. She was a teacher for the York City School District. Anne also worked for the Literacy Council, the Atkins House and held Bible Study and taught reading to female inmates. Along with her husband, Donald, Anne is survived by two sons, John Weigle and his wife, Deb of Elizabeth, NJ and David Weigle and his wife, Kristin of York; two daughters, Katherine Dowling and her husband, Michael of Lewisberry and Rebecca Platts of Dover; five grandchildren, Joseph Platts, Daniel Platts, Jesse Platts Abby Dowling and Sarah Dowling; one great granddaughter, Madilyn Platts; and her brother in law, Robert Weigle and his wife, Mona of North Carolina.
