Anne E. (Lorentsen) Carlson

YORK – Anne E. (Lorentsen) Carlson, 84, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 peacefully in the comfort of her home. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Carlson with whom she was happily married almost 50 years. Born September 17, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Albert M. and Victoria G. (Carlsen) Lorentsen, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Parents teach us different things as we grow. Mom was the best listener, would share amazingly sage advice, but only if asked; which is a gift in itself. She loved us all unconditionally no matter what, taught us to be strong, be kind and to always be thankful. She was loved and respected by all who had the good fortune of knowing her, largely because she never judged or shared secrets. She was humble till the day she died and never realized what a gift she was to our family and to the world. We hope she can finally see how she left every person better whose life she touched. Godspeed momma. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Mrs. Carlson is survived by two daughters, Linda A. Eriksen of York and Elayne M. and husband Philip Grim of Seven Valleys; five grandchildren; Lauren N. and husband Russell Monti, Ashley E. Carlson, Brandon W. Grim, Erik R. Eriksen, and Caitlin A. Grim; a brother, Richard Lorentsen of New Port Richey, FL; and a sister, Margaret Carlson of York. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia E. Shiflett; and three brothers, Arthur, Albert, and Fred Lorentsen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Patient Help Fund, 25 Monument Rd., Suite 194, York, PA 17403 or to a favorite charity.
