Anna Mae (Hoare) Winter

YORK- Anna Mae (Hoare) Winter, 96, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Winter who passed away on September 29, 1999. The couple had been married for 52 years.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at New Freedom Cemetery, 953 Campbell Rd., New Freedom, PA 17349 with her pastor, the Reverend Thomas A. Gilman officiating. The graveside service will be livestreamed around 11 a.m. at HeffnerCare.com on Anna’s obituary page. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.

Born on December 5, 1927 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Anna D. (Mathaney) Hoare.

Mrs. Winter was a member of Manchester Assembly of God Church in Manchester.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Winter of Harrisburg; son, Joseph J. Winter, Jr. and his wife, Terri Bankowski of Ormond Beach, FL; two grandchildren, Victoria Velez and her husband, Troy of Grantville and Jake Hartman of Dundalk, MD; four great grandchildren, Andrew Wentz and husband, Neal, Jordan Stueckroth and wife, Kelsey, Nicholas Stueckroth and Benjamin Velez; and one great great granddaughter, Savanna Stueckroth. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary D. Moses, Victoria H. Chronister and Elva J. Garrett; and two brothers, Clinton Hoare and Emmit Hoare.
