Anna (Martin) Schaszberger

York--Anna (Martin) Schaszberger, 87, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Manor Care Health Services- South. She was the wife of the late MSgt. George H. Schaszberger, USAF, (Ret). A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with the Rev. W. Michael Langford of Messiah United Methodist in York, officiating. A viewing will be from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the funeral chapel. Burial will be held in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Schaszberger was born January 15, 1921 in Protiwitz, Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Franz and Maria (Schueck) Martin. She arrived in the United States July 4, 1955. She was employed at the White Rose Swimming Pool Snack Bar, a local sewing factory and as a cook at the Lutheran Home Kelly Drive. Her greatest achievement was obtaining her US citizenship. She was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church. Mrs. Schaszberger is survived by one daughter, Elsie M. Schaszberger of Langley AFB/Poquoson, Virginia, two grandchildren Alexandra G and Katerina M. Buchanan; her son-in-law, Lt Col Robert B. Buchanan, USAF; she is also survived by her youngest brother, Robert Martin of Czech Republic. Her sister and brothers, Elizabeth Neumeister and Walter Martin of Germany and Anton Martin of Czechoslovakia preceded her in death.
