WILKES-BARRE-Anna L. Malys, 78, of East South Street, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday in Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Plains on December 27, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Vito and Ida (Sicca) Scocozzo. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, Kingston and the Relay For Life-American Cancer Society. Mrs. Malys was formerly employed by United Rehabilitation Services and Head Start. She also worked at local garment factories. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sophie Babula, and brother, Ralph Scocozzo. Surviving is her husband of 59 years, Anthony Malys; son Edward Malys, Hawley; daughter Ann Marie Warman, Wilkes-Barre; 6 grandchildren, David Malys and family; Debra Baker and family; Miranda Taylor and family; Jessica Dillon and family; Margaret Jones and Family; Shannon Malys; brother Vito Scocozzo, Kingston; sisters Antoinette Evick, Fairfield, CT; Jennie Kelly, Bridgeport, CT; Theresa McSorley, Dunwoody, GA. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 South Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Deacon George Mochin will conduct a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Italian Independent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, 190 Welles Street, #118, Kingston, PA 18704.
