Anna Klahr

Anna Thompson Klahr POTTSVILLE-Anna Thompson Klahr, 94 formerly of Pottsville and Schuylkill Haven died early Friday morning at Seton Manor Nursing Home, Orwigsburg, PA. Born in Tower City, PA February 20, 1913, and the daughter of the late Edward A. and Katie A. (Moyer) Thompson. She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1930, and she also attended the Taylor Business School. Mrs. Klahr was employed by Ideal Financing which was bought by Gerard Investment Company, of Pottsville for 37 years. Mrs. Klahr was a member of the First United Methodist Church she served and held office in the Youth Groups, Sunday School; United Methodist Women Group; and was a 40 year member of the church choir. She also served as chairman of the Administrative Board and a former member of the church trustees. She was also a member of the Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens. Mrs. Klahr is preceded in death by her husband Lester I Klahr, seven brothers Lyle, Clarence, Charles, Kenneth, Warren, Bertram, and John Thompson; four sisters Inez Hause; Margaret Reese; Jeanne Lillbridge, and Betty Thompson. Surviving is a step-daughter Adele Llewellyn, Schuylkill Haven, a granddaughter Leslee, wife of Glenn Luckinbill, Pottsville, a grandson Lee L, husband of Reba Llewellyn, Schuylkill Haven, PA; three great-grandchildren, Rachel Renninger, Norristown, PA; LeeAnn Peto, Pecs, Hungary, Laura Llewellyn, British Columbia, Canada, and one great-great-grandson, David Peto, Pecs, Hungary, and several nieces and nephews. Services of remembrances will be conducted on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville, PA with the Rev. Storm Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be at the Charles Baber Cemetery, Pottsville.
