YORK-Anna H. (Barton) Kapela, 94, of York, formerly of Baltimore, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph J. Kapela, Jr., to whom she was married to for 49 years. A service will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9:30-10a.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery in Maryland. Her pastor, The Reverend Charles L. Pershing will be officiating at the service. Mrs. Kapela was born in Philadelphia on October 21, 1913, a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Grace (Olcott) Barton. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dallastown. Along with being a homemaker, she was a devoted mother, avid bingo player, enjoyed reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Kapela leaves three daughters: Mary Ann Blessing of Red Lion, Patricia G. Cummins of Windsor, and Margie E. Kapela of York, a step son, William J Kapela of Baltimore, six grandchildren: Denise Daiker, Brent Cummins, Don Dusich, Matthew Cummins, Kelly Dusich, and April Cummins, eight great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Memorial Contributions may be made to Bell Socialization, 160 S. George Street, York, PA 17401.
