Anna E. Stevenson

DALLASTOWN - Anna E. (McGill) Stevenson, 89, a former resident of Hobson Street, Mill Hall passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Manor Care, Dallastown where she resided for three years. She was born August 9, 1928 in Lock Haven a daughter of the late Charles C. and Beatrice L. (Matheny) McGill. Anna was married on September 3, 1949 to Francis P. “Pug” Stevenson who died July 31, 2008. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together. She worked for Ames in Mill Hall for several years. She enjoyed traveling to the beach with her family, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching soap operas and playing cards. Surviving are two daughters; Joanne L. (Donald) Whitman of York and Susan M. Stevenson of Stewartstown. One grandson Donald Whitman, II and three great grandchildren Alex, Kyle and Ryan all of Tampa, FL. Anna is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers Charles McGill, Jr., and James McGill. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Chaplain Margie Stevens of Heartland Hospice officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from Noon to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 57 N. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701-1309.
