Angeline L. D'Alessandro

Angeline L. D'Alessandro Angeline L. D'Alessandro, 93, of Orwigsburg, where she had resided with her daughter and son-in-law, formerly of Girardville, passed away Tuesday morning at Orwigsburg Center. Born in Mahanoy City on May 30, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise Ricci Garze. She attended Redd Stone Academy of Beauty Culture in Hazleton and operated a beauty salon, Ang-El, with her sister in Mahanoy City for several years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville. Over the years, she enjoyed crocheting, drawing and crafts. She was an organist in her church in Mahanoy City as a young girl. She also enjoyed playing the organ by ear, watching television and going out for steamed clams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Atty. Nicholas J. D'Alessandro, who passed away in 1968; her five brothers, Michael, Louis, William, John and Joseph; her four sisters, Mary, Lena, Rose and Eleanor. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Laslow, wife of Keith, of Orwigsburg; she was the last member of her immediate family; nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church, 915 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. The Rev. David J. Loeper will officiate. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and also on Saturday morning from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at the Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Sts., Pottsville.
