Angela Beth Brockway

Angela Beth (Leary) Brockway, 56, of York Township, passed away Tuesday morning, February 11, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of Mark R. Brockway with whom she celebrated her 30th wedding anniversary on November 12, 2024.

Angela was born on October 3, 1968, in Chambersburg, Franklin County. She was a 1990 graduate of Shippensburg University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She then taught public school for many years in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Texas until becoming a full-time stay-at-home mom in 1999. Once her family was raised, Angela resumed teaching in York County, PA, which included time with her own “Preschool from the Heart”. Most recently, Angela was a teacher at the Shrewsbury Christian Academy through 2023, which allowed for her to share her strong faith with her students and colleagues. 

She enjoyed volunteering her time to assist local charities such as Community Reach in Red Lion, had been a Sunday School teacher, a Bible Study leader and was a rescuer of animals. In addition, during her time receiving medical treatments, she and her children established “Front Porch Donations” to provide food to those less fortunate. 

In addition to her husband Mark, Angela leaves her mother and step father, Donna (Miller) and Bryan Daniels; her son, Logan Brockway and his girlfriend, Montgomerie Weitzel, of West Chester; her two daughters, Emerson Higley and her husband, Noah of Honeybrook and Langley Brockway of York; her two brothers, Nicholas Daniels of Owings Mills, MD and Matthew Leary of Lewisberry; her sister, Dr. Beth Hancock of Cypress, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service to Celebrate Angela’s life will be held February 22, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church, 74 East Forrest Ave., Shrewsbury, PA with Pastor Phil Cook officiating, assisted by Certified Celebrant, Allison Duke. A time of visitation will be from 3:00-4:30 PM, followed by a service at 4:30 PM. There will be a reception immediately following the service at the church. Angela wished for her funeral service to truly be a Celebration and has requested that those in attendance please wear brightly colored clothing. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Red Lion, is assisting with arrangements. Angela’s Celebration of Life Service will be livestreamed from GFC Shrewsbury YouTube Channel.
