AUSTINVILLE- Andrew Walter Andersen, 82, of Austinville, PA passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his home. He was the loving husband of the late Sandra (Dreber) Andersen. Services are private and at the convenience of Andrew's family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. 100 West Main Street Troy, Pennsylvania. Andrew was born October 25, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John and Ellie Andersen. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran, serving in the Merchant Marines. After serving his country, Andrew stayed working on ships as a Seaman until his retirement. He was a member of the Troy Vets Club and was a 50 year member of the Free & Accepted Masons. Andrew is survived by his son Erik J. Andersen of Port Jefferson Station, NY, his daughter Andrea J. Andersen and husband Paul Fleming of Enfield, CT, his grandchildren Katie and Sean Fleming, and several nieces and nephews. Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra, his brother James Andersen and his sister Elsa Thayer.
