Andrew J. Shedlock

PARLIN NJ- Andrew J. Shedlock Jr., 80, of the Parlin section of Sayreville, New Jersey, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Andrew and Anna (Matichka) Shedlock. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the Destroyer Escort Sailors Association where he served as Chaplin. He had resided in Elizabeth, N.J. before moving to Parlin in 1961. Before his retirement in 1995, he was employed as an electrician at Sunshine Biscuit Company in Sayreville where he worked for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his daughters; Cindy Shedlock and Dorothy Hays. Surviving are his wife of 59 years Beverly (Lewis) Shedlock; sons, Andrew J. Shedlock III, Herndon, VA and Dennis Shedlock and wife Debra; Parlin, NJ, grandchildren, Kenneth Hays, Dustin Karns, Jeremy and Heather Shedlock; sisters, Helen McDonald, Florence Scovlen, and Marion Mondulick; and brothers, Joseph, Thomas and Daniel Shedlock. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 3rd, at 10:00 a.m. from the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with The Reverend Carol Coleman officiating. Interment will be in Idetown Cemetery, Lehman Township.
