WILLIAMSPORT -Amos A. Young, 76, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Manor Care South, Williamsport. He was born on February 9, 1942 in Watsontown and was the son of the late Raymond and Stella (Kurtz) Young. On July 25, 1961 Amos married the former Patricia A. Dunkle, who survives and they celebrated 56 years of marriage together last year. Amos was a graduate of Warrior Run High School, Class of 1960. He served his country proudly in the United States Marines during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of the Salvation Army and enjoyed tinkering with things and baseball but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Amos is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Raymond D. and Angela Young of Wyomissing, Andrew E. and Susan Young of Williamsport and Terry L. Young of Wilkes-Barre, two daughters and sons-in-law; Sandra M. and Kenny Allen of Hughesville and Brenda L. and Robert Reaser of Sinking Spring, 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters-in-law; Wells Young of Mifflinburg, William and Maxine Young of Watsontown, Thomas and Florence Young of Milton and Lewis Young of Erie and one sister; Edna Miller of Shawnee, Kansas along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Amos was preceded in death by one son; Robert Young, one great grandson; Perry Miller, Jr., one great granddaughter; Ellianna Young, six brothers; Raymond and Warren Young and four infant brothers and two sisters; Emma Laird and Stella Coup. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be made to a local Salvation army or American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 Services for Amos will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
