Ambearle R. Whitehead

Ambearle R. Whitehead Ambearle R. Whitehead, 89, formerly of Pottsville, passed away on Thursday morning at the Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabiltation Center, Frackville. Born in Jim Thorpe, formerly Mauch Chunk, on October 23, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Elizabeth Ambearle Whitehead. She was a graduate of Mauch Chunk High School. She was a member of the Bethany Christian Fellowship Church, Cressona. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Theodore and Bertine Whitehead; her four sisters, Edna Studer, Elizabeth Brown, Edith Martienssen and Gladys Joseph. She is survived by her daughter, Louise A. Heffner, wife of Jack, Pottsville; her granddaughter, Kelly Heffner; her step-grandson Daniel Heffner; 7 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethany Christian Fellowship Church, Cressona. The Rev. David Wood will officiate. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Evergreen Cemetery, Jim Thorpe. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in Ambearle's memory to have a constellation named after her, to 1438 West Norwegian St., Pottsville, PA 17901. The Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
