Alyce D. (Dickerson) Martin

YORK- Alyce D. (Dickerson) Martin, 89, died on Monday, January 14, 2013 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Thomas O. Martin. The couple had been married for over 49 years. Services for Mrs. Martin are private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on September 19, 1923 in Partlow, VA, she was a daughter of the late Fitzhugh L. and Eunice L. (Hall) Dickerson. Alyce was formerly a longtime resident of Baltimore. Mrs. Martin was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Bumpass. Mrs. Martin is survived by one son, Vance Martin of Lafayette, CO; two daughters, Linda Buckley and her husband, Doyle of Red Lion and Paula Avon and her husband, Richard of Chevy Chase, MD; six loving grandchildren; seven loving great grandchildren; one brother, Wade Dickerson of Partlow, VA; and one sister, Lois Strobel and her husband, Buck of Palm Beach, FL. She was preceded in death by one great grandson, Jedediah Smith; four brothers; and three sisters.
