Alverta Louise (Topper) Harris

NORTH YORK- Alverta Louise (Topper) Harris, 90, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late William J. Harris. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 9-10a.m. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Mrs. Harris was born in York on August 12, 1920, a daughter of the late David C. and Estella R. (Frey) Thompson. She worked for the former Roanna Girl in Hellam. Mrs. Harris attended Faith Fellowship in Windsor Park and was a member of Manchester Senior Center. Mrs. Harris leaves a son, Brian L. Harris of York; five daughters, Sheila R. Ruppert of York, Lona L. Mathison of Thomasville, Linda D. Terrasi of York, Krystal M. Brenneman of York, and Melody F. Toner of Hellam; 26 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald, Jackson, and William Harris.
