Alverta L. (Bailey) Mccoy

YORK – Alverta L. (Bailey) McCoy, 91, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Edward “Peck” McCoy. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, November 30, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Pastor Dennis E. Fulk officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born December 15, 1920 in York a daughter of the late Elwood C. and Stella (Staley) Bailey, she had retired from Wolfgang Candy Co. Mrs. McCoy was a member of Mountain Grove Chapel in Dover and had been active with Pleasureville Fire Co., Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. McCoy is survived by a son, Rev. Kenneth J. and wife Rev. Rebecca McCoy of Dover; two granddaughters, Michelle Lundy and Tracey McCoy; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Lartz and Doris Kohr.
