Alvera J. Lentine

RENOVO - Alvera J. Lentine, age 76, of Farwell, died peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, May 10, 2011, with her family by her bedside. She was born in Renovo on Jan. 10, 1935, a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Pizzino) Intallura. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, enjoyed walking, taking shopping trips, and spending time with her family. For many years, Alvera and her husband owned and operated the Hobart Inn in Hobart, N.Y. before moving back to Renovo. She also worked at Piper Aircraft and the Maxwell Furniture Store. In 1971, she married Mario Lentine in New York and they spent 16 years together before his death in Jan. of 1987. She also served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. Alvera was also preceded in death by her brother: Samuel Intallura and a sister: Phyllis Stopko. She is survived by her nieces: Cathy Perry, Karen Stone, Brenda Wolfe, Lisa Houser, Julie Overgord, Connie Wertz, Vera Hough, Mary Shinn, Julie Chiavonne, Susie, and Kathy, nephews: Charles Casper, Michael Casper, and Edward Stopko, and one sister: Concetta “Connie” Casper of Renovo. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Charles Ugo celebrating. Friends will be received at the Church one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Hyner with military services at the graveside.
