Althea D. Pat" Naylor

Althea D. "Pat" Naylor, 97, passed away Thursday evening, August 14, 2008 at her home at The Brunswick at Longstown. She was the loving wife of Lester W. Naylor who passed away June 3, 1989. A service to celebrate Mrs. Naylor's life will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with the Rt. Rev'd Barry E. Yingling, chaplain of The Brunswick at Longstown, officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Mrs. Naylor was born March 17, 1911, in Brooklyn, NY. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Augusta V. (Griffin) Dimelow. She was a graduate of both York High and later, Millersville State Teachers College and taught Elementary School at the former Violet Hill Elementary School in Spring Garden Twp. for many years. She was a past member of The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist and had been a volunteer with the American Red Cross in York. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shiloh American Legion Post #791. Mrs. Naylor is survived by her two sons, Thomas L. Naylor of York and Richard D. Naylor and wife, Glenda also of York; three grandchildren, Kristen Harte and husband, Frank, Scott Naylor and wife, Michelle, and Joshua Naylor and wife, Becky; seven great grandchildren, Caila and Aidan Harte, Adam, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Ryan and Daniel Naylor. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin Dimelow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 S. Queen St., York, PA 17402.
