Alma R. (Grove) Trout

YORK-Alma R. (Grove) Trout, 85, died Monday, April 5, 2010 at home with her loving family present. She was the wife of Preston H. Trout to whom she was married to for 61 years. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 8, 2010 at St. James Lutheran Church, 25 N. Adams Street, York, PA with her pastor, the Rev. Brenda Ferree officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday in the church parlor. Burial will follow in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Jacobus. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Trout was born August 11, 1924, in Red Lion, the youngest child of the late Kurvin F. and Cora M. (Lutz) Grove. Alma worked at The Federal Cigar Company in Red Lion for several years prior to being employed as a cafeteria worker in West York High School during the 60's and early 70's. She was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the married couples class. She enjoyed making quilts in her spare time. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Trout is survived by a daughter, Shirley A. Trout of York; a sister, Hilda Ness of York; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
